ETS & FEUM Rates (July 2025)

Dear Customers,
The EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), which was launched in 2024 with 40% coverage obligation, has entered its second phase as previously announced by the European Union and subsequently by DFDS. The coverage of the ETS has been increased to 70% of reported emissions in 2025. On the other hand, Fuel EU Maritime (FEUM) regulations has been implemented as of 2025. FEUM aims to ensure that the greenhouse gas intensity of fuels used in the sector will gradually decrease over time, starting with a 2% decrease by 2025 and reaching up to an 80% reduction by 2050. For more information on the updated ETS and the FEUM please visit our web-site.
Taking into account the changes in the carbon markets in the corresponding period and the 2025 ETS scale published on our website, the ETS (Emission Trading System) and the Fuel EU Maritime (FEUM) fees to be applied to the vehicles we carry on our routes in accordance with the European Union rules have been determined as follows for standard units and containers. The rates will be valid as of 1 July 2025. In line with this scale, the applicable ETS rates will be announced to you via e-mail on the 21st day of each month applicable as of the 1st day of the following month for a period of 30 days. Changes in the carbon allowance fees related to the ETS can be followed from this web-link.
