BU MED, the Leader of Intermodal Transportation, Continues to Add Value to Sector with Projects

 

DFDS Business Unit Mediterranean, the leader in intermodal transportation between Turkey-Europe, continues to add value to the sector with its projects that offer operational opportunities to international transporters and logistics companies, as well as time and cost advantages.
 
BU MED, which is a first in the sector -preferred a Turkish shipyard in order to add a value to Maritime and ship industry sector that the company has been working on since 2008- continues its ship lengthening project.  The ship lengthening process of M/V Akdeniz and M/V Cuneyt Solakoğlu - with a capacity of 240 trailers 193 meters in length- successfully completed by adding a 30-meter-long 1130-ton new block in the first half and the second half of 2017, respectively. 
 
BU Med continued to increase the capacity of M/V Karadeniz and M/V Cemil Bayülgen, from the same generation, in 2018. M / V Cemil Bayülgen, who entered the shipyard in December for the lengthening process, went on her first voyage yesterday. Vessels, reached to 300 trailer capacity  with lengthening process, provide services on the busy days and routes of BU MED.
 
 
SEA BRIDGE PROJECT
 
Customers who will use the BU MED and DFDS lines will have great advantages in 2019. In the other geographies where there are DFDS connections, “Sea Bridge” combined ticket can be provided according to the demands of the customers. On the Sea Bridge routes discounted tickets are offered to the customers. 
 
In addition to the existing lines which have been connected to the Sea Bridge project in recent days, the Calais/Dunkirk-Dover in UK and Ghent-Göteborg in Sweden have been added to those routes. Customers will be able to benefit from the Sea Bridge combined ticket options upon request in other geographies with DFDS connections.
 
WITH A SINGLE RESERVATION
FROM TURKEY TO FRANCE, FRANCE TO UK
 
With Toulon line of BU MED, all types of trailers including non-cranable ones can be transported to Calais via Le Boulou. Customers will be able to transport their trucks from France to England without any cabotage restrictions. With a single reservation over a line connected DFDS’ Calais-Dover, BU Med offers their customers time and cost advantages to carry their units from Pendik to Dover.
 
VESSELS SET SAIL FOR EUROPE FROM YALOVA
 
BU MED started to serve from the Yalova Ro-Ro Terminal as a solution to the operational intensity experienced at Pendik Port. By the beginning of 2019, eight sailings are being offered to costumers on İstanbul/Yalova – Trieste lines, four of these sailings are carried out from Pendik Port and the other four are carried out from Yalova Ro-Ro Terminal.
 
With Yalova Ro-Ro Terminal, BU MED provides time and cost savings, offers a better service especially for the customers of Southern Marmara and Anatolia regions. BU MED will leave its mark in 2019 with its upcoming projects.
