BAF Rates (April 2020)
Dear Customers,
With the beginning of 2020, IMO rules regarding the sulphur cap forced maritime companies in the entire world to change the BAF (Bunker Adjustment Factor) applications. As DFDS, to mitigate the negative effects of BAF increases, we introduced Industry Relief Factor to our market along with the change in the BAF scale. The recent severe reductions in oil prices obliged us to re-adjust our Industry Relief Factor we started to apply on our BAF rates. Please note that we will be reducing our relief factor by 50% as of 1st of April.
As of 1 April 2020, BAF rates applied to the freight rates of units transported on our lines have been re-determined according to the changes in foreign exchange rates, fuel prices and the BAF scale availabe on our web site. Please see below shown tables for BAF rates of standard units and containers for April 2020:

Best Regards,
