In 1994, 48 Turkish freight operators formed UND Ro-Ro, an intermodal short sea shipping operator with the purpose of transporting freight from Turkey to Europe (to the Port of Trieste in Italy) via the sea. In 2004, the company was renamed as U.N. Ro-Ro
